Continuing Education in Rehabilitation Science (CERS) Award of Merit
Awarded annually to a Saskatchewan physical therapist who has demonstrated extraordinary commitment of time, energy and effort to promote continuing education for the physiotherapy profession. Nominated by the CERS director.
Clinical Excellence Award
Awarded for outstanding clinical contributions to the physiotherapy profession. Any SPA member may make nominations.
Clinical Education Award (Rural and Urban)
Awarded to recognize and honour an individual who contributes expertise and time to support and promote the clinical education of students, with direct student supervision and/or program development in clinical education as an ongoing focus in their professional life. Up to two awards can be made each year – one to clinical instructors in urban settings (Regina & Saskatoon) and one to clinical instructors in rural settings. Nominated by the School of Rehabilitation Science.
New Member Professional Contributions Award
Awarded to a member with 5 or fewer years of experience in the profession, who has demonstrated outstanding professional involvement and/or leadership within the professional association, or has developed new and innovative programs and initiatives. Any SPA member may make nominations.
Award of Merit for Research
Awarded to a member or other collaborative personnel involved in research directly related to physiotherapy or having an effect within the scope of practice of our profession. This research may be in published or presented form. Any SPA member may make nominations.
Joyce Manton Award for Leadership
Awarded to a member who has shown outstanding dedication to the profession through their leadership and/or professional involvement. Any SPA member may make nominations.
Unique Initiative Award
Awarded to a physical therapist or group of physical therapists that have shown initiative to contribute to health care in an innovative or unique way. This award is meant to be considered when an opportunity to recognize an extraordinary effort has presented itself, not necessarily on an annual basis. Any SPA member may make nominations.
Special Recognition Award
Awarded to an organization, association, agency or member of the community whose goals reflect those of our profession. Any SPA member may make nominations.
Award of Merit for Student Initiative and Professional Engagement
To recognize a student SPA member who has demonstrated initiative and professional involvement in the rehabilitation sciences. Any second-year SPA student member may make nominations.
