SPA Is Offering CPA Congress Bursaries For 2023

CPA Congress 2023 Bursary Applications are now OPEN! CPA Congress 2023 will be held in Quebec City from July 13 – 15, 2023. Registration is now open.

The SPA will be offering four bursaries of $2000 each. This is open to student SPA members and SPA members. Please follow the links below to access the criteria and application form:

Applications for bursaries are open April 1, 2023 and will be accepted until April 28, 2023. Winners will be selected and notified by May 5, 2023. The Role of Practitioners in Indigenous Wellness Course

SPA is pleased to announce a new educational bursary, The Role of Practitioners in Indigenous Wellness Course.

SPA recognizes the importance for Indigenous Wellness in Saskatchewan. Therefore, it is our priority that physical therapists have the opportunity to pursue continuing education in Indigenous Wellness in Saskatchewan. One additional way for SPA to support diversity and equity development for physical therapists across the province is through this educational bursary.

This bursary covers the cost of the course: ($300 + GST for all health professionals and full-time students, $250 + GST for residents. Proof of enrollment is required. A lottery system will be used to select two successful applicants three times a year for each intake of the course. The winner will be notified via email.

The application deadline is April 30, 2023.

Course start date is May 15, 2023.

Educational Bursary for Rural and Remote Physical Therapists

SPA is pleased to announce we are receiving applications for the new Educational Bursary for Rural and Remote Physical Therapists! SPA recognizes there are challenges to pursuing continuing education as a physical therapist working in rural and remote Saskatchewan. We know that over 30% of the Saskatchewan population is rural and remote, yet only 10% of physiotherapists live and work in these communities. One additional way for SPA to support this group of physical therapists across the province is through this educational bursary (up to $500). A lottery system will be used to select one successful applicant every fall.

You are eligible if:

  • You are a SPA member;
  • For at least 2 full years you have resided and practiced in a community of under 50,000 people that is over 75 km from Saskatoon or Regina; and,
  • You have attended/will attend a physiotherapy-related educational event, or have completed/will complete further training, between January 1 and December 31 of the year of the application.
